It was just the beginning but it couldn't get any worse... it was a truly awful attempt and I only reveal to my close ones the reason of failure.
When I was young, I used to see programs on TV explaining the roller coaster ride learners went through just to get their licence. It was stated that one went through 6 or 7 attempts and others 9 or 10... it was unbelievable at the time and I didn't ever think it was possible, but now my scenario proves me wrong and tells me that I am one of those unlucky drivers...
(Hours 115 & 116)I drove back down my street today to return home and on my travels, I met a traffic warden! Not unusual you might be thinking, but it was stamping tickets over the cars on the side of which I knocked last time! So finally, I get my wider width of the road!!!
In less than 24 hours, my third result will appear. At this moment in time, I have lost hope, faith and the worst of the world.. I write this without a smile on my face and I only expect to hear something I do not wish for.
(Hours 113 & 114)
Today's lesson is going to be very memorable.... the closest I have ever been to a busy roundabout! The exercise involved me getting out the car and standing in front of a roundabout to analyse the direction traffic is intending to go. This is still one of my major weaknesses on a roundabout, which makes me hesitant to join one. Now that I have settled the roundabout reading, I hope to read the clues faster while being in the car.
As most of the roads are now blocked by cones and filled by roadworks, an incident occured on the way home which made me laugh in hysterics! It shouldn't have really been funny, but the fact that I was least expecting it made me burst out with laughter.... As I entered the narrow street, cars were parked on both sides which made it even more narrower.... I squeezed my way through at a slow speed and heard a bump! I thought I clipped a car at first and looked straight at my instructor in shock.... then later I realised that I had only caught the wing mirror, which caused mine to bend inwards, and we assume, bent the other one outwards considering nothing visible was left on the ground... Of course I blame the parked car that I caught since it was not supposed to be parked there between 9am and 6pm, especially with the wing mirror left out! They're just lucky it's not left hanging on wires!
(Hours 111 & 112)I had a better run today with a longer night's sleep compared to what I've had in recent days. All the deadlines are approaching and time is running out! The lesson today was very useful to me as I was entirely on my own two feet.. it allowed me to focus on which parts of my driving I need to work on before the test comes. At the moment we have established hesitancy on roundabouts and missing many opportunities to join one.. but for me, I will never join one until it is clear to me that I can fit into the tiny gap in such little time!
