(Hours 50 & 51)
I never knew you could actually find your biting point and move the car off with just the clutch... after all this time I have been doing it with the gas which is not essential.. finding the bite with just the clutch is so much easier and quicker! This is a big advantage if you are driving in a busy city centre since people won't have to wait long before you move from stopping at a traffic light or traffic in general.
Another bad habit I have been doing in the past few sessions is using the clutch and brake for my manoeuvres. This is a bad thing as the clutch fights with the brake and the car does not know what you want to do. Marks will be deducted in the practical test due to bad control of the car. A nice controlled car should involve the clutch and stops should only be made with the brake. The reason for the battle of the pedals is that I am using the brake to slow the car down.. the solution for this would be to dip the clutch.
