Decided to break my blog up a bit from driving so I'm talking about the finale of Forensic Heroes II which I watched yesterday.
A very gripping end on ep 29 led a nervous and intense final ep for the sequel. The ship explosion was plausible and could be accepted for the dramatic scene of a final ep but it was weird how they said 40% of Ivan's face was burnt and not a mark was left on his face,.. his skin was pure and he was only bandaged up for 2 minutes! His character is good though and the way he gave Sam a longer time to escape was sweet. Much more danger risks for Kev in this series but I suppose it's to train him up for Burning Flame III, the series he's currently filming as a firefighter.
Good acting on Charmaine's behalf when she had to cry and laugh at the same time,. not an easy trick for some to play off so well but she had me guessing the content of her received phone call.. was it good news or bad?
Definitely hoping for a third series... it's been funny at times and has provided me good entertainment for the last 6 weeks..
Driving Lesson #4
21:24
(Hours 7 & 8)
Nothing much to learn today, just a brush up on my steering skills and a recap over junctions. Quite light in terms of memory overloading as nothing majorly new was introduced which let me relax my mind at ease in front of the wheel for the first time. This allowed me to concentrate on areas I had difficulty with...... steering! Sounds easy to some but it's hard for L plates!
The main problem for me is steering too early, steering too much and straightening up the wheel too late which causes me to drive wavy haha ...not good on a main road, so before driving on one this must be sorted! I did plenty of left turns to begin with and finally mastered the way to steering left within quarter of an hour. The next step was to repeat the same process but turning right instead of left. This was much harder as it involves looking both ways and changing gears at various points, for example, on approach to a closed junction. Haven't quite mastered the right turns yet but time will come...
It ended with quite a shock today when my instructor told me that I would be driving us home after my next lesson. I thought it was a bit early for him to say considering my next lesson is a few days away but thinking back on it now, I believe he has told me for a reason... to be prepared and not to panic. Looking back at my attempts of a right turn today, some were unsuccessful due to other cars on the road. (Where did all the cars come from? There were hardly any on my left turns!) Stalling the car was a slight issue when I became impatient in finding my 'bite' as I saw a car behind me in the centre mirror thinking it would beep at me for my slowness. From this I learnt today that the key to driving is to take your time and not to panic under any circumstance. Panic attacks will only speed up your actions making them imperfect which results in doing it again. This will take twice as long and by then I will definitely have all the drivers beeping at me!
Driving Lesson #3
Thursday, 26 June 2008 - 15:04
(Hours 5 & 6)
So it's Thursday already! Time had surely past much quickly this round and I was back in the car before I knew it.
I started off slowly again today just making smooth turns round bends and familiarising myself with what I've learnt in my last 2 lessons.. I picked up my speed when I was on a straight road and not soon after I found myself doing 30 on a 60 road... pretty slow for those that can drive, but to me I was speeding since I usually do 10 haha
I found changing gears quite tricky today as I was doing a lot more 3rd and 4th gear... and my instructor had shouted 'You're in 2nd' when I thought I was in 4th! Later he asked me to go in 4th again and I thought I had.. I said to him 'Remember last time when I was going in 4th and I went in 2nd...?' then a voice answered back with a snigger 'You're in 2nd now!' I thought he was joking but he wasn't... haha so yea,. definitely need a brush up on changing gears..!
Once I got out onto the main roads I had some roundabouts to do and practiced a lot of junctions.. I must say I've never seen so many people behind me before! haha they must have all thought I was a bad driver... particularly on roundabouts when I'd stop right in the centre and didn't seem to know which cut in I wanted after indicating..
Despite the mistakes and the funny times I've had, it's been a good day altogether especially the end. I heard my instructor say 'Turn right and park behind the lorry'.. I tried to do so and turned right fine,. it was the parking that went a bit obscure.. I can't remember what happened but I just seem to remember the back of the car halting and throwing us to the windscreen.. I tried parking again but my car jumped again... it was harder trying to park this time as my laughter had carried over from the first jump.. I laughed again and left it at that! I continue laughing now thinking about it,.. it must have looked funny from the outside!
Driving Lesson #2
Monday, 23 June 2008 - 18:53
(Hours 3 & 4)
Waiting for one week just to sit back in front of the wheel was painful.. how I wished for my week to pass quicker so I could drive again was like watching paint dry.. the time had past so slowly! It was tormenting!
Today I had my second driving lesson and already I learnt so many more new skills... I had full lock steering which meant I had to do 360 degree turns in a little car park, bay parking and roundabouts... I repeat ROUNDABOUTS! haha ...though not as bad as I thought or as bad as everyone says it is, I never thought I'd do one so early on.. but I managed... successfully! Like with everything else among my driving, I feel more confident when it's a shock to my system,... if I know about it and I prepare for it,.. it all gets out of control.. the amount of times I've stalled my car today has been dreadful! I must have counted at least 5 within the first hour and that was just trying to bring the car to a stop!
Kevin always says 'Be proactive and not reactive'... I always agreed but today I think that being reactive has been more suitable for me in certain situations.. like the roundabout!
My next lesson will be on Thursday,.. I shortened my waiting time (or suffering time) by half a week! Let's hope it goes twice as quick... she says as her suffering time begins...
Kev on the Repsol
Wednesday, 18 June 2008 - 15:38
Just digged out an image of Kev at the Tissot event last year with the Repsol Honda.. He was modelling watches for Tissot but it looks like he's modelling the bike more! Nothing beats this image though - Kev and a bike,.. 2 in 1.. what more could I ask for? Oh the watches are in there too..
He loves his watches and in the last 2-3 years he's bought 8 or 9 watches! He buys them to reward himself when he's worked hard..
The Crack of Dawn
Tuesday, 17 June 2008 - 04:52
It's approaching 5am and I'm finally calling it a day.. I've been blogging and trying new things on here for 10 hours.. it's been good and I've discovered loads.. but it's time for me to hit the sack, the birds are tweeting and my eyes are drooping...

First Driving Lesson Today!
19:48
(Hours 1 & 2)
Just joined blogger as you can all see.. doing it cos' I started my driving lessons today and it's not as bad as it seems.. other than that DSoul's closing and I need a new homepage to link to my profiles..
First I'll tell you the origin of my blog name.. I simply called it 'My Online Home' after Mr. Kevin Cheng, my #1 idol's blog name... you can find it here: http://blog.tvb.com/kevincheng/
Dunno if I'm allowed to promote it but he's good so it's ok to promote! He called his 鄭嘉穎 » My Online Home so I just simply changed his name to my name.. ^^ haha smart huh?
Back to the blog title.. My driving lesson went cool but my thigh muscles let me down... they decided to go stiff when I was getting my head round the clutch pedal so the car kept jumping lol but in the end I got the hang of checking my mirrors and the '捲腸粉' technique of the steering wheel as Rain Li says in Feel 100% haha the good old days..
Short but sweet, as I'm still learning about this blogger thing and how I put up pics and stuff.. just don't want all this to be erased before then so I'm keeping it short!
